Public Worship

We have been gathering UUs and having weekly Sunday evening house meetings since September 2011.  We have recently moved our  gatherings to 11 a.m. Sundays.

We are grateful to have received a Chalice Lighters grant from the Ohio-Meadville District, with contributions from UUs in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, to help us hold monthly public worship services.

Our services are the third Sunday of each month, 11 a.m.  at the Progressive Women’s Association in downtown Clarksburg.

We would love to have you come worship with us.

Children are welcome.  There is childcare and an activity for young children during the service, and a coffee hour afterwards.

The building is wheelchair accessible, with an accessible restroom.

Upcoming Service

Sunday, October 28, the service will be Part 1 of Morality Made Simple But Not Easy.

Your Morals is an academic research website on morality, run by a group of social psychologists, the best known of whom is Jonathan Haidt, who wrote The Righteous Mind: How Religion and Politics Unite and Divide Us

Everyone is invited to take the Moral Foundations Questionnaire there before the service Sunday.  It will give you some insights and give you a starting place to think about how you decide what is moral (and contribute to research).  You won’t be asked to share your results.

Southern Cluster Shindig

Pack up the babies, and grab the old ladies, and everyone goes…

Hot August night and the leaves hanging down
And the grass on the ground smellin’ sweet
Move up the road to the outside of town
And the sound of that good gospel beat
Sits a ragged tent where there ain’t no trees
And that gospel group tellin’ you and me
It’s Love, Brother Love, say Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show

Camp Meeting
