The path

I was talking with a close friend who said he had been failing at spirituality for a while. This confuses me. You cannot fail at spirituality. Sometimes you take a different loop in the path, sometimes you take a rest from your journey, and sometimes you can be lost, but you can never fail. Spirituality is a journey where we get chances to relearn and to grow more all the time. Spirituality is not a destination.

How to deal with other’s sadness?

Too many times we jump to solving the problem when the other person just needs to vent. Sometimes we inadvertently invalidate the feelings of others because we are too busy trying to find solutions instead of giving them comfort.  This picture is a cute and helpful reminder for how we should approach situations like this. This is respecting the dignity of others.

10 years since Hurricane Katrina

From the archives: Ten years ago this week, we launched uuworld.org as a weekly web magazine, with plans to publish one news story a week—just in time to cover the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the response of Unitarian Universalists to that complex catastrophe. UU World: Black Lives Matter

UU World editor Chris Walton writes in his Fall Column: “The General Assembly passed a resolution calling on UU congregations to support the Black Lives Matter movement, which is challenging police brutality and other expressions of white supremacy. The movement challenges us, too.”

A Uni-what?

Often it is hard to describe our religion, especially when you are starting out.
This video goes into the depths of who we are and what we are about. Mostly we are about finding our own way together. Spirituality is personal, but fellowship and changing the world require others.
