We can help our struggling loved ones by reassuring them that they can bring us their pain without guilt or shame. This article from Omid Safi is a good place to start.
Here is a way to help our local Clarksburg Mission.
Today is Christmas. It is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. You can read the full story here.
It is a day of celebration. It is also a day to remember how lucky we are and how we need to help others in the world. Christmas is a reminder for us to be a light in the world.
I have included a devotion for today.
NOW THE WORK OF CHRISTMAS BEGINS
Now the Work of Christmas Begins
When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks,
the work of Christmas begins:
to find the lost,
to heal the broken,
to feed the hungry,
to release the prisoner,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people,
to make music in the heart.
