Potluck Brunch

Potluck Brunch! New Year’s Potluck Brunch!

We are resuming our tradition of a brunch on the Sunday after Christmas, resuming this year after two years of Zoom. Bring food to share, or just bring yourself! There will be a Zoom session, if you can’t attend in person, where we will share the conversation but sadly not the food.

Come and join us at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, January 1, 2023, for good fellowship and food and a small devotion.

Our services are Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time on ZOOM and in person at the Progressive Women’s Association Event Center, 305 Washington Ave. in downtown Clarksburg, behind the Courthouse. If you wish to join on ZOOM, please contact us for logon information. A coffee hour, a time for discussion and socializing (including ZOOM participants), follows from the end of the service until 12:00 noon. More about us. If you prefer not to be seen, video is optional. If you would like to participate, please email westforkuu@gmail.com for details and a link, or for help with using ZOOM.

Children are welcome.

The building is wheelchair accessible, with an accessible restroom.

Sunday, November 27th, 2022: The Complexity of Family

Thanksgiving is a time for us to spend time with family, but “family” is a word with a myriad of interpretations. This lesson led by John Hall will explore what family is versus the many ways the idea expresses itself and how those expressions can affect our perceptions and spirituality.

Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote seven Principles, which we hold as strong values and moral guides. We live out these Principles within a “living tradition” of wisdom and spirituality, drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience. Robert Helfer will lead the service.

Please join us for Worship:

What’s in your way?

Sometimes resiliency isn’t about what we do right but what we do wrong. Sometimes we undercut our own resilience. The below article lists some of the things that trip us up. So make some time this month reading through the article and identifying which of the 13 is in your way. And then take one step – large or small – to remove it from your life.

13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do

If you are feeling brave, you can even talk with a family member or very close friend and ask them which one is getting in your way.

Chalica 2019 Day 1

A Meditation: Prayer of Storytelling by Mandie McGlynn

A thought to ponder:

What makes someone important? Is it their abilities, their job, their status? Or, is it something more?
